In my opinion, now until January 1st is the best time of the year.
There are hundreds of reasons why.

12. Christmas movies/plays/musicals.
11. Asking to and opening presents early.
10. Appreciating veterans by watching Saving Private Ryan.
9. Decorating with lots of Christmas Lights.
8. Very cold, crystal clear nights.
7. Holiday Parties.
6. Christmas Shopping with only 5 days to go.
5. Eating multiple Thanksgiving dinners.
4. New Years Eve Dinner at a nice restaurant.
3. Christmas Music.
2. Hunting Season.
1. Making and eating Christmas food, desserts, and candy.
